6 months!

My sweet Elizabeth, how are you already 6 months old?!  I know I'll be saying that every month and year for the rest of my life.  You amaze daddy and me every day and are a true joy.  You'll be crawling any day now, and then while we can't wait for that milestone, it's so bittersweet.  You are stunningly beautiful, very happy, and love your mommy and daddy.  You make the best faces and have started to terrorize Mackie (I told him to leave you alone those first few months, so I guess it's payback).  You pretend to be shy by ducking your face in to your arms, the floor, or my shoulder when someone new approaches you.  But always you have the biggest smile on your face when you do it.  Silly girl.  You are our biggest blessing and bring such light in to our lives!

Stats:  Still our petite little girl.  5% in weight (13.10 pounds) and height (23.5") and 3% head size.  But her hight and weight are perfectly proportional to one another, which is ideal.  She is in 3-6 and 6 month clothes.  We cloth full time, and her diapers are still on the 'small' setting.

Likes:  Nursing, moving, scooting after Mackie, being held, chewing on everything...she is a total little joy and loves everything!  Oh, and she adores having "Panda Bear Panda Bear" read to her before her afternoon nap.  She has really enjoyed the following foods (served as large chunks/slices so she can 'feed' herself) cucumber, banana, avocado, watermelon, peaches, apples, and lime.  Pureed favorited are peaches, sweet potato, banana, and avocado.

Dislikes:  Being laid down on her changing table (so still diaper changes and clothes changes).  She isn't a fan of green beans, but she has only had them once.

Milestones:  We started solids (about 2oz a day, but we don't 'push' her to eat a set amount).  Usually her food is pureed, but I give her large slices of fruits and veggies to gnaw on too.  She is impossibly close to crawling!! Elizabeth can move 3 limbs at a time, and then gets stuck.  I'm sure she will be truly crawling in a few more days.  She was dedicated at church on June 9th!  Both sets of her grandparents were able to come in town, as well as my youngest brother, James.  Elizabeth turns her head to voices talking, knows her name, and looks to B or I when one of us ask where the other is.

Schedule:
Elizabeth wakes up at 6:00, nurses in bed with me, and then we nap till 8:30.  She nurses again at 10:30, plays, then we have solids, read a few books, and she naps from 12:30-2 or 3.  After she wakes up she nurses and we play, go on walks, run errands, etc.  I nurse her again around 4:30 to "top her off", and then daddy does bath time while I have a few minutes of alone time.  I nurse her around 6:45 and she is asleep by 7:30!

  1. She is a sweetie! My little guy was only a little over 6 lbs when he was born, and we are still in the lower percentiles. But he is perfectly proportionate, and a perfectly healthy little guy. That's what we need to be happy for!
