Life

Wow, where do I start?!  Maybe if I blogged every few days instead of less than once a week I would have more to say.

Elizabeth is doing great.  I love just holding her and watching her.  She is eating super well, and sleeps about 5-6 hours at night before waking up for her first feeding.

This morning Dr. Google freaked me out and we went to the doctor because miss E developed a head to legs rasha few days ago and it was getting worse...turns out it is just baby acne.  My poor little sweetheart.  She was born with such rosy, beautiful skin and now she is itchy and bumpy (all of these pictures are from before she broke out).  We also had her put on some medicine for reflux at her one month check-up, but over the past two weeks it's not helped one bit.  She still vomits up a lot of her milk.  So I am feeding her less, but more frequently, during the day.  Oh, and I was told to cut dairy out.  I'm sure it's for the better, but I miss cheese!

Baby girl is a swaddle ninja!  She busts out of them all...zip-up, velcro, and regular.

Mackie is doing really well with her.  The other day B and I were cleaning the office while Elizabeth napped in her swing downstairs.  When I peeked over the landing, Mackie was laying next to the swing (and this is a dog who only ever lays on the couch).  It was sweet.

I also started working out last week, and am on week 2 of Ripped in 30 (a Jillian Michaels DVD).  I really really hate her, but like her workouts.  I know you aren't 'supposed to' work out before 6 weeks, but I just couldn't take it anymore.  So...here is my 4-week post baby body:

Not awful, but I feel like my stomach will never tighten back up!  It's going to take a lot more than one month of working out, but the DVD has been a great start for me.

  1. This may sound weird, but rubbing breast milk all over baby acne helps. I did it with Emma and am doing it with Jude now.

  2. Just a word of encouragement first you look awesome after only 4 weeks! Second it takes your body up to a full year to go back to order. I am a tiny frame and just had my second pregnancy (twins)and it took longer than my daughter but it will tighten back up. I have not been able to work out after this second pregnancy because my muscles still have not completely come back together and I want to avoid damage so I have had to let it bounce back alone! It will don't stress and working out can only make it happen faster! You will be back to normal in no time : )

  3. I absolutely hate Jillian. "Can you feel the burn? I can feel it!" YOU'RE NOT SWEATING!
