Craftiness Tuesday

What have I been up to this week?  Glad you asked!  Monday night I pulled out my purse pattern and cut out all the pieces so that I'd have no excuses preventing me from sewing come Tuesday.

Step 1: pin the pleats

Step 2: baste the pleats, then baste the whole bag.

Step 3ish: pin the lining and interfacing (I used white denim), and mark out where the pocket will go.  Then sew it all together.

The cute lining I chose.

Sew it all together

My first pocket ever!

Add the piping (I used wide ribbon and folded it over)

Almost done...see the white fabric tubes?  Those are the handles that STILL need to be turned right side out and attached.  I can't find a single safety pin in the entire house to use!!

Today (Wednesday) was spent working.  G had a total meltdown this morning before school (school starts at 8....I want to kill her most of the time) that lasted for 45 minutes, and then I took S to the Botanical Garden and we walked around for almost two house.  It was SO enjoyable!  The kids' dad came home early, so I was able to take Mackie on a walk and do the dishes before B got home.
